A metering pump, also called a dosing pump or proportional pump, is a special type of positive displacement pump designed to meet the demanding requirements of various stringent processes. Its flow rate can be adjusted continuously from 0 to 100%, making it suitable for transferring liquids—especially corrosive media.
As a liquid transfer device, its distinguishing feature is the ability to maintain a constant flow rate regardless of discharge pressure. A single metering pump handles transfer, metering and adjustment simultaneously, simplifying the production process. With multiple metering pumps, several media can be dosed into a process in precise proportions and then mixed.
